Teracom Danmark, the operator and owner of the Danish nationwide digital terrestrial TV and radio tower infrastructure network, has acquired the technology service company Relacom Denmark A/S, the Danish subsidiary of the Relacom Group.
Teracom Danmark is backed by Agilitas, a pan-European private equity fund active in the Nordic Region. Agilitas has previously backed the Danish and Norwegian companies Danoffice IT, Reconor and Recover Nordic.
Relacom Denmark A/S primarily focuses on the construction and maintenance of nation-wide infrastructure for telecom and mobile networks, including 3G, 4G and the forthcoming 5G networks. It provides a wide range of technical services and all four large mobile operators are customers. Relacom Denmark A/S has 60 employees at two offices in Denmark.
The parties have agreed not to disclose the economical part of the acquisition.
“I am excited about the potential of the combined businesses. Relacom Denmark A/S brings great industry expertise and complementary services to Teracom Danmark for mobile networks as well as many skilled technicians. This will strengthen Teracom Danmark’s mission critical service offerings and benefit our customers” said Martin Løbel, CEO of Teracom Danmark.
Martin Calderbank, of Agilitas, commented: “The acquisition of Relacom Denmark A/S is an important strategic investment for Teracom Danmark, as it will play a vital part in supporting Teracom’s transformation plan.”
“We believe it will be of great benefit to Relacom Denmark A/S to become part of Teracom Danmark. The company has been a relatively small and niche unit within the Relacom Group and will have broader development opportunities as part of a larger organisation” said Knut Øversjøen, President of the Relacom Group.
